So I ran Lu into the GI's office early this morning to see the nurse. She took a look at Lucy's tube site and said she thought the rash was coming from all the drainage out of her stomach. It basically irritated her skin after leaking out. When we were in Ohio I noticed after eating Lucy had gotten bloated and that her site was draining a lot, and that was when the rash first appeared.
Lucy also had a lot of granulation tissue that the nurse burned off with some silver nitrate. So, hopefully that will be gone for a while.
We discussed how to get Lu's tube site cleaned up and how to keep it that way since granulation tissue and irritation are a chronic problem for her. The nurse suggested we get some Button Buddies which are basically cute little cotton pads that go around the tube to soak up the junk that comes out. They have cute little patterns and designs so I let Lucy help pick out some and we ordered them! I really hope they help!
I also found out that Lucy's info from Ohio has yet to be sent to our GI here, so that explains the delay in hearing from Dr. G. I am debating if it would seem rude and impatient to call up to Ohio and nag them to send the records on.
Otherwise Lu is doing alright. Her stomach seems to be getting back to its normal (which isn't "normal" but you get what I'm sayin').
