Back to normal

It seems like Lu has gotten back to her "normal". Her diapers look pretty good and she ate 24oz of formula today without any coaching from me. She isnt complaining of pain and she took a nice long nap this afternoon. Yay!

I am supposed to call our specialist this week to report in and make decisions about whether or not we will trial another food or wait. I hate making this decision. I really question what is right or wrong here. Last summer when we saw the world renowned Dr W we were told that out of 100 foods its likely Lucy may only pass one, and its up to us/her whether or not to proceed with 99 trials worth of pain and suffering to get that one food. Is it the right thing to do to feed Lucy something that stands a ~99% chance of causing her serious pain? And whatever decision we make, we must also hope that its the decision Lucy will have wanted us to make when she's older.

Lucy's dermatographism seems to have flared up again as well. I am thinking its most likely due to the unusually warm day we had on Sunday. Her back, hips, and butt are covered in those famous red lines and even a place with a small sore on her hip from her digging at her skin so badly. The medicine shes taking regularly now must have helped because I didn't even notice it until her bath tonight. When things are really flaring up she digs and digs at her skin until she goes stark raving mad and starts tearing apart my house. I can always tell just by her demeanor when the dermatographia is flaring, so this "controlled" flare up on the new meds makes me optimistic she will have an easier time in the summer heat this year.

I'll update once I talk to the allergist this week! Thanks for checking in on Lu!
