I think Lu has Hand Foot and Mouth Disease(HFMD). I looked it up online and the rash she has is a spot on match. The only thing to do is wait it out. It seems that maybe the virus has caused a reaction from her immune system which is why we are seeing the reflux flair up. So, two problems for the price of one.
Lu's formula intake was worse today than yesterday. I found myself begging her to eat by this evening. She feels AWFUL. Her body is covered in a rash but its most severe on her hands and feet. It looks like little blisters! She also seems to have sores on her lips and in her mouth, which is making her drool profusely. This poor kiddo is just so miserable.
I am going to have to return to my militant sterilization methods now that its apparent Lu wants to repeat last fall/winter's sick season. I will have to bust out the shopping cart cover, purell after every outing, lysoling the doorknobs daily, and making certain everyone we visit is germ-free in general. Anytime Lu gets sick its always twice as bad as what every other kid gets. Ugh! I was hoping this year would be different now that she is older. But I will hold out hope that maybe the HFMD is just a fluke!
Oh and how could I forget- The repairman bailed out and is now booked until Thursday!!! No refridgerator for us. Zach is going to swing out and get us a mini-fridge so we can keep Zachary's milk and Lucy's formula cold.
